Miami-Dade County Transit’s Suspension of All Transit Services Countywide Amid Violence in Downtown Miami
We were made aware tonight that Miami-Dade Transit has cut transit services countywide tonight, May 30th, and tomorrow, May 31st.
While we understand the situation that continues to develop in Downtown Miami, we also understand that thousands upon thousands of essential workers still need to reach essential businesses– weekend notwithstanding.
We are calling on Miami-Dade Transit to bring back transit service for tomorrow, May 31st, and on rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft to implement programs that can allow esstential workers to get to their jobs without paying their entire day’s salary just to reach the destination.
Thank you, and please stay home, stay safe, stay healthy, and please only use transit for essential trips–when it’s running, that is.
